My dad and Uncle Jim rented a house in Florida for a month and somehow I wound up here too. We took a commission piece from an old friend of his. Here is a picture of me slowly cutting in the shoreline. I'm really excited to see how this turns out, as its the biggest painting my dad has ever done and the first piece of art I've gotten to make with him.

My anaconda don't want none
Because painting is so new to me, I have noticed I get really frustrated if things don't work out perfectly on the first try. It seems to be a pattern of mine to paint something, then to make something out of pieces of paper.
I've been really into pop culture references in art lately, and have always loved hip hop and hip hop culture.

Smidgen with Antlers
My first commissioned piece. My friend Bethany asked me to paint a portrait of her dog, Smidgen with a pair of antlers. I sent a picture of it to my dad, and he said to add more antlers. I did, but the finished picture doesn't look as good as this one:

I'm Never Gonna Forget That
My dad is a painter and has been my mentor through this journey of me learning my style and what I love to paint. He set a challenge for us to paint something of his choosing, then I get to pick what we paint next. He asked me to paint an elephant, and I begrudgingly said 'okay'. He still hasn't painted anything I've asked him to.

My story
I came across my love for painting by complete accident. Coming home from a week in the mountains, my roommate had painted our dining room table a color white that was too boring to look at every day. Just having fun, I painted a paint-by-numbers painting on the table to cover the white. Here is a picture of the table today:
I ran out of brown paint at the end, otherwise I would have re-painted the tree trunk.Acrylic on table (duh)
